My name is Joan and I am the owner of Flora Fae.
In 2021, I left the rhythm of Philadelphia—twenty years steeped in the heartbeat of events—and crossed the country to Portland, where the air felt different and the light softer.
Here, on the edge of Forest Park, nature whispered a new language.
The East Coast will always hold chapters of my story, but the West called forth a different kind of creativity—wilder, freer, closer to the soil.
With the Oregon Flower Growers Association at my fingertips, I let go of recipes and rules.
I began to arrange blooms the way the forest grows—intuitively, imperfectly, beautifully.
This shift birthed something honest:
A business not born from ambition, but from love.
Not about chasing numbers, but chasing joy—
creating beautiful things for people, and in turn, finding my purpose.
Now, I live a life where happiness is both the work and the reward—
feeding others beauty, and feeding myself in return.
